I've received an email from my reporter friend asking for my opinion about the burqo banning issue in France. She asked me to watch the debate on this which was aired in CNN 3 days back. After watching, it somehow reminds me to The Alchemist.
There's this one tiny part in it which goes like this --
Everyone seems to have a clear idea of how other people should lead their lives, but none about his or her own.I couldn't agree more. Sometimes we always think that this and that is the best for him/her. But never a glimpse we sit back and rethink that it is their life after all. Maybe in the next 10-15 years, or maybe in the next few days or hours... it will be our last meet with them. Yet, we still want to say which is which for them.
Often we forget that whichever seen as good for one person from our perspective, might not be as good as what we think when it goes to that very own person's view. We always think that we are the best in making decision, our idea is better, people should follow what we say, yada yada yada..
But most of the time, we forgot to try to look at the other side of it... from that person's shoes. Thus, it will always ends up with hurting both sides. =(
Oh! Even last Monday Auntie Rani asked me why am I covering my hair. Is it self-motivated or parents asked me to or is it because of religion. I startled. Never before; not even once people asked me with that. I paused for few seconds.. thinking.. ermm.. i can say i make the decision by myself.
During that time, i don't think that it is a must for a Muslim to cover their head. But after practicing for quite some time, i feel comfortable. and decided to constantly wearing it. and today, I am so happy with how I am presenting myself.
I love what Hana Tajima quote in Elle Canada's 10th Anniversary Ed;
A woman's beauty is her inner confidence, and you can express that confidence covered head to toe or completely bare.
Whatsoever it is, don't you think that it doesn't hurt you pun if you respect other people's choice kan? Like what Daphne once said,
alternative lifestyles should be respected, not corrected.
p/s : go and watch Tariq Ramadhan's debate with this Mona Eltahawy as well.. i wass like... helllllllllloooooooooo!! doesn't do any harm to you pun. *sigh*

herm... sometimes we become overreacted or even over-care because be love that person so much...but sometimes it because of no reason at all... it is just because we want to take control over anything...
