The Traveler (not yet a) Mommy!

I had been traveling for the last 6 months already. I have met sooo many people and heard so many interesting stories that I would like to share some of them with all of you. This one I have called it "The Traveler Mom".

While traveling from Lima to Cusco in Peru two months ago, I was seated next to an Australian woman that happens to be traveling with her two daughters of 9 and 14 years old. In an hour flight this woman changed my opinion about traveling with kids. To be very honest, I have always thought that when you have kids part of you life, such as traveling, is over for a loooong time, but this woman proved my wrong.

This is a story of a 43 years old traveler mom from Australian traveling with her 2 daughters for a period of 6 months. She decided to have her kids experiencing other cultures and learning to speak a second language, Spanish. So she coordinated a home schooling program and packed their stuff. Their trip consisted of the following countries: 1 month in Morocco, 2 month in Spain, 1 month in Perú and 2 months in Bolivia. Unfortunately her husband was able to join them for only a month and now is back in Australia working so they can afford this trip. True love, ah!

I was inspired by what this woman is doing for her kids; but more inspired by the maturity and interesting conversation these girls can have with such a young age.

A lot of people don’t understand how traveling the world changes your perspective of life and improves your inner self. It opens your mind to other cultures, to new ideas, and to other possibilities of life. I found very interesting the way this traveling mom thinks, and will definitely do something similar the day I have kids. :)

BTW, I am writing this note from a hotel in Cambodia. I got here yesterday. I have so many stories to tell already. I can't wait to share with all of you my Cambodian adventure.

=====

I somehow miss Billy and Nathan. I believe that they are currently in KL for their 2-3 weeks stop before heading Bali for their final pit stop. after Bali, they'll head back to Melbourne. They've been traveling for 3 months started from Vietnam - Cambodia - Thailand - Malaysia - Bali. We've been in the same couch for almost 24 hrs and it's been an amazing journey mashaALloh.

I learnt a lot from the mother too.. basically on traveling with kiddos. I sure will go and do the same thing with my kids nanti enshaALloh. =)

I supposed, this should be my final trip before Ramadhan. I am reserving my Sha'aban for the preparation of the holy month thus i've cancelled my July trip. I've booked flight ticket for Eid together with Arif. Rini is going back earlier. She's supposed to join me for this trip as well but since her flight to Tawau will be on early July, she cancelled it. So it's just the Bangkok trip that she managed to tag along.

Now that it is nearing Ramadhan, the mood is slowly changing. Few friends already flew for Umroh, few is going to in these few days time and few has came back. I think, Umroh to be in the next list would be nice kan? =)

Till then.. eat, love and pray! And live your life to the fullest ! See you in a few =)
